The Nashville Predators have announced that defenseman Jeremy Lauzon will be out on a week-to-week basis due to a lower-body injury.
At 27 years old, Lauzon has recorded one assist, 103 hits, and 31 blocked shots over 22 games, averaging 18:33 minutes of ice time. A native of Val-d’Or, Quebec, Lauzon was drafted 52nd overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL Draft. He played three seasons with the Bruins before being picked by the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft in 2021. He was traded to the Predators during the 2021-22 NHL trade deadline, where he quickly made an impact by scoring two goals and accumulating seven points, with one goal in 13 games.
Nashville re-signed Lauzon to a four-year contract worth $8 million, with an average annual value of $2 million. He is currently in the third year of this deal, which is set to expire at the end of the 2025-2026 season, making him an unrestricted free agent at that time.
The Predators currently hold a record of 7-12-3, earning 17 points over 22 games and sitting seventh in the Central Division. They are scheduled to play against the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday, and the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.
