The Ole Miss Rebels have had a significant success on Early Signing Day, which just became even more notable.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Rebels successfully swayed four-star linebacker Tyler Lockhart to commit to them, turning him away from the Mississippi State Bulldogs. As per On3, Lockhart is ranked as the No. 159 player nationally (No. 16 linebacker) and the No. 5 player in Mississippi.
According to his MaxPreps profile, Lockhart has recorded 81 total tackles this season, including 32 solo tackles and three sacks. His commitment highlights the effective recruiting efforts of defensive coordinator Pete Golding and may explain his earlier shark emoji post on X on Wednesday.
Lockhart will be joining a defense that has seen a resurgence under Golding, making it one of the top units in the nation for the 2024 season.
As Early Signing Day progresses, stay tuned to Ole Miss On SI for updates on the latest members of the Rebels’ roster.
