After the San Francisco 49ers’ disappointing loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night, head coach Kyle Shanahan provided updates on player injuries.
Linebacker Dee Winters exited the game due to a neck injury and did not return, while safety Ji’Ayir Brown left in the second half with a groin injury.
The game marked the highly anticipated return of linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who played a considerable number of snaps in the first half after missing 10 months following a torn Achilles sustained in Super Bowl LVIII. Fans became worried when Greenlaw left in the third quarter and did not come back.
Shanahan reassured that Greenlaw’s departure was due to fatigue from his first game back, rather than a serious issue. Greenlaw also provided an explanation for his exit.
