Caden Blamer, a qualifier for the Winter Junior Nationals, is planning to swim for Brown University starting in the fall of 2025.
“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Brown University! I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and family for their continuous support and encouragement. A special thanks to Coach Norman and Coach Tynan for this incredible opportunity to further my academic and athletic career at Brown. Go Bruno!”
Hailing from Ohio, Blamer is currently a senior at Upper Arlington High School, where he competes on the school swim team and trains year-round with the Upper Arlington Swim Club. He has demonstrated versatility, excelling at shorter distances across all four strokes.
At the Division I OHSAA State Championships in February, Blamer achieved a second swim in both of his individual events. He finished 7th in the 50 free with a time of 21.08, following a personal best of 21.00 in the prelims. He also secured 8th place in the 100 back with a time of 51.98 and contributed to his team’s 3rd-place finishes in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. Just one week prior, Blamer set a personal best of 50.04 in the 100 back.
A few weeks later, at the OH Tim Myers Memorial Senior Champs, Blamer showcased impressive performances. He achieved a personal best of 1:52.68 in the 200 back heats before placing 9th in the final. Additionally, he recorded lifetime bests in the 100 free (46.98), 100 breast (57.05), 50 breast (25.80), and 50 fly (22.93).

Brown University, a Division I Mid-Major program, competes in the Ivy League. The men’s team finished 5th at the Ivy League Championships last season, sending one swimmer, current senior Jack Kelly, to compete at the NCAA Division I Championships.
Based on the outcomes from the 2024 Ivy League Championships, Blamer would qualify for the ‘C’ final in the 100 breast, 100 fly, and 200 back, positioning him to make an immediate contribution to the team.
Joining Blamer in Brown’s class of 2029 so far are Will Cicco, Connor Wickerham, Rudd Day, and Steven Ma.
