The Michigan Wolverines have recruited running backs from Alabama once again. Justice Haynes, a former five-star running back recruit, has entered the transfer portal and decided to leave the Crimson Tide for Michigan, with his choice being reported on Tuesday.
This past season, Haynes was Alabama’s third-leading rusher, following quarterback Jalen Milroe and fellow running back Jamarion Miller. He accumulated 448 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 5.7 yards per carry.
Michigan initially recruited Haynes, offering him a scholarship in high school, but he chose to visit Florida, Georgia, and Ohio State, along with Alabama.
Next season, the Wolverines are expected to have two five-star talents in their backfield, with top quarterback recruit Bryce Underwood likely to take the starting position and Haynes potentially leading as the starting running back.
This year, Michigan’s leading rusher was Kalel Mullings, who is completing his fifth season, while Donovan Edwards, finishing his fourth season, was the second-leading rusher. This opens a promising opportunity for Haynes to secure playing time in 2025.
