The Michigan Wolverines are now recruiting running backs from Alabama.
Justice Haynes, a former five-star running back recruit, has entered the transfer portal and decided to leave the Crimson Tide to join the Wolverines, as reported on Tuesday.
This season, Haynes was Alabama’s third-leading rusher, following quarterback Jalen Milroe and running back Jamarion Miller, accumulating 448 yards and seven touchdowns with an average of 5.7 yards per carry.
Although Michigan offered Haynes a scholarship during high school, he ultimately visited Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, and Alabama.
Next season, the Wolverines are set to feature two five-star recruits in their backfield: top quarterback prospect Bryce Underwood is expected to lead the quarterback position, while Haynes may take the starting role at running back.
Michigan’s leading rusher this year was Kalel Mullings, who is wrapping up his fifth season, while Donovan Edwards, their second-leading rusher, is finishing his fourth season. This creates a promising opportunity for Haynes to secure playing time in 2025.
