The Wisconsin Badgers have made an offer to transfer portal cornerback Sascha Garcia, a freshman from William & Mary, as he announced on Sunday. Garcia, a 6’2″, 185-pound cornerback, recorded 19 tackles and an impressive 11 pass breakups during the 2024 season as a redshirt freshman, earning All-American accolades.
Prior to Wisconsin’s offer, Garcia had received interest from schools such as Cincinnati, Western Kentucky, Maryland, Eastern Carolina, Utah State, Sacramento State, UMass, and Akron.
The Badgers are in urgent need of cornerbacks after several players departed via the transfer portal this offseason, including Amare Snowden, Jonas Duclona, Jace Arnold, and Max Lofy. Additionally, Nyzier Fourqurean and RJ Delancy have exhausted their eligibility.
Currently, Wisconsin has only three returning cornerbacks, assuming Ricardo Hallman opts to return for one more year, alongside freshmen Jay Harper and Omillio Agard.
To enhance their depth and experience, the Badgers have also secured a commitment from Geimere Latimer, a transfer from Jacksonville State, but they still require additional players at the position.
Garcia could provide a valuable option at the boundary position, as the redshirt freshman has three years remaining in the transfer portal and would be a beneficial addition to Wisconsin’s roster.
