A prominent defensive back for the Kentucky Wildcats, safety Jordan Lovett, has recently encountered legal issues after being arrested this week in Nelson County.
As reported by Jon Hale of The Herald-Leader, Lovett was stopped for driving at 120 MPH and faces charges for speeding over 26 MPH above the limit, reckless driving, and not having an insurance card. He also faces charges for marijuana possession.
Hale mentions that the UK football program will address the matter internally, according to a spokesperson from the university.
Lovett, who hails from Radcliff, is expected to play a significant role in the Wildcats’ secondary this coming season. Last season, he recorded 63 tackles and made two interceptions.
Additionally, Hale noted that wide receiver Hardley Gilmore, who is transferring to Nebraska, was charged with misdemeanor assault on December 7th for allegedly hitting someone in the face at a storage facility in downtown Lexington.
This report follows Gilmore’s commitment to the Cornhuskers just a day earlier.
