The Kentucky Wildcats have concluded non-conference play with an 11-2 record after defeating Brown today. They now shift their focus to the upcoming match against the Florida Gators and the rest of their SEC schedule.
One player aiming to expand his role is Travis Perry from Eddyville, who has seen an increase in playing time due to Kerr Kriisa’s injury. Perry has stepped in to handle some point guard responsibilities, and after a few challenging outings, he is beginning to demonstrate his capability to contribute significantly to the team.
Mark Pope shared his thoughts, emphasizing that this experience will help Perry gain confidence.
“What I’ve noticed is that TP is going to keep adapting to these point guard minutes and will become more comfortable with time,” said Pope following Tuesday’s win over Brown. “He has a lot more to offer than we’ve seen in his limited time on the court, as he is still adjusting to the new situation. However, once he settles in, he will be very valuable as a point guard.”
Perry has begun to display his scoring potential, hitting another three-pointer against Brown and successfully driving to the basket for quality shots. While he still has areas to improve, the playing time is aiding him in finding his rhythm.
It will be exciting to observe his progression as conference play intensifies.
