The Wisconsin football team has severed ties with its 2026 quarterback recruit.
Jarin Mock, a quarterback from Pickerington, Ohio, revealed on ‘X’ that he will no longer be part of Wisconsin’s 2026 recruiting class.
“After a short discussion with Wisconsin, they are no longer honoring my commitment. Therefore, my recruitment is completely open,” Mock said this afternoon.
Mock is a 3-star quarterback ranked 50th in his position according to 247Sports. He received an early offer from the Badgers while Phil Longo was their offensive coordinator. With Longo’s departure to Sam Houston State, the Badgers seem to be exploring new directions under their current offensive coordinator, Jeff Grimes.
This move isn’t surprising, as the Badgers also released their 2025 commit and signee, Landyn Locke, from his letter of intent after he chose to join Longo at Sam Houston State.
Recently, the Badgers offered a 4-star quarterback for the 2026 class, Bowe Bentley, who is ranked as the 11th best quarterback in his class. Securing Bentley would represent a significant improvement for the program. Currently, the Wisconsin football 2026 class includes just one committed player: Benjamin Novak, a 3-star offensive lineman from Indiana. There is still much work ahead in the 2026 recruiting cycle, but the process has just begun.
