Former Wisconsin Badgers running back Montee Ball had an outstanding collegiate career, playing for the team from 2009 to 2012. After finishing college, he entered the NFL and was chosen by the Denver Broncos in the second round (58th overall pick) of the 2013 NFL Draft. Ball spent only two seasons with the Broncos.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Montee Ball will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2025. He expressed his gratitude on Twitter, stating, “This is such an honor. Thank you so much to all of the voters, the committee, Badger fans, my family, my teammates, UW football, Thomas Hammock, and everyone who supported me on my journey. Thank you thank you thank you.”
This recognition is significant for him and his family, and many Badgers fans remember his impressive college achievements. Over his college career, Ball played in 94 games, amassing 5,140 rushing yards on 924 attempts, scoring 77 touchdowns, and averaging 5.6 yards per carry. He also had 59 receptions for 598 receiving yards and six touchdowns, with an average of 10.1 yards per catch. Ball was instrumental in leading the Badgers to consecutive BIG10 Conference titles in 2011 and 2012, which may have contributed to his selection for the Hall of Fame, especially since Wisconsin has not won the conference since then.
