Vitor Roque is set to join Barcelona in the January transfer window, as confirmed by the club’s sporting director Deco. According to The Athletic, the Spanish club has agreed to pay €61million (£52.2m, $66.9m) for the forward. Athletico Paranaense, Roque’s current club, announced that he will play his last game for them on Sunday before moving to Barcelona.

Despite being only 18 years old, Roque has already scored 12 goals in 24 Serie A appearances this season. Deco stated that Roque was already signed and was due to arrive in either January or June, but due to an injury to Gavi, the club decided to bring him in now. Barcelona will pay an initial €30m to Athletico Paranaense for Roque, with the remaining €31m due in potential bonuses.
