Max Strus, who departed from the Miami Heat to join the Cleveland Cavaliers as a free agent last year, was recently awarded an Emmy for his participation in a program that documented his journey to the NBA and Miami called “Inside the Heat — Max Strus”. This program, along with another show featuring Heat executive vice president and general manager Andy Elisburg, won in the “Sports Program — Post-Produced or Edited Series” category at the Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra expressed his enjoyment of spending time with Strus and his family, and Strus himself joked about receiving a red-carpet welcome from Miami for his Emmy win. Strus currently averages 14.5 points for the Cavaliers and was a starter for the Heat during their appearances in the 2022 Eastern Conference finals and 2023 NBA Finals. The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences covers television markets in Florida, Puerto Rico, Louisiana, Georgia, and Alabama.
