The sanctioning body of NASCAR has reinstated Cody Ware, a driver in the Cup Series, after his suspension was lifted. Ware was suspended indefinitely in April of this year due to charges of felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault on a female.
However, the charges were dropped by the Iredell County district attorney’s office, and NASCAR has approved Ware’s return to all racing activities. Ware, who has nearly 100 starts in the Cup Series, has maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal and is grateful to have his life back. He has driven for his father’s team, Rick Ware Racing, since his debut in 2017 and was part of the championship-winning team in the Asian Le Mans Series during the 2019-2020 season. The team used various drivers in the No. 51 Ford Mustang during Ware’s suspension, and they have yet to announce a driver for their second full-time entry in 2024.
