Ahead of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup clash against West Ham, Jurgen Klopp praised forward Jarrod Bowen, calling him his “favourite player” outside of his own squad. Despite West Ham being dominated in the game, Bowen managed to score his side’s second goal, bringing his tally to 12 goals and four assists in 22 games this season. Klopp praised Bowen’s versatility, as he has often played up front despite being a natural right winger. This is not the first time Klopp has praised Bowen, having done so twice before in pre-match press conferences. Liverpool were first linked with Bowen in the summer of 2021, and while it is unclear if this interest will lead to a transfer, Bowen would undoubtedly be on Klopp’s list of targets.
