Following a poor campaign, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s future is in the balance as he prepares for a crucial meeting with owner Robert Kraft and team president Jonathan Kraft on January 8. The meeting comes just a day after the Patriots’ final game of the season against the New York Jets, with Belichick’s position looking precarious. There are even rumors that the 71-year-old coach, who has won eight Super Bowls in his distinguished career, could face being fired after 23 years at the helm. Kraft’s overall disappointment with the team, who currently have a dismal 4-12 record and the NFL’s worst offense, is said to be “extreme”. While Belichick has a contract until the end of the 2024 season, the meeting could be historic in deciding his future with the Patriots.
