Reports suggest that Chelsea have shown interest in signing Evan Ferguson, the 19-year-old Republic of Ireland international and Brighton & Hove Albion striker. Ferguson is considered one of the most promising prospects in the Premier League, having emerged as the Seagulls’ spearhead in Roberto De Zerbi’s attack. Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham have also been linked to the striker, with Ian Wright urging the Gunners to sign him. Chelsea sees Ferguson as a long-term solution to their attacking problems, and Alan Shearer has lauded him as a “really special talent.” However, Brighton is not in a position to sell the Irish international, especially after selling Moises Caicedo to Chelsea last summer for a British record transfer fee. Despite this, Ferguson could be a perfect fit for Chelsea, and the striker may be open to the idea of joining the club, even though Brighton is on a more exciting and clearer path than the west London side.
