In pursuit of a grandstand finish in the 2023-24 season, Aston Villa has been outstanding, and now they have the opportunity to strengthen their squad. Recent reports have linked the Villans with Leeds United’s winger, Crysencio Summerville. According to Fabrizio Romano, Villa is among several clubs tracking the 22-year-old. However, Leeds is not willing to sell Summerville mid-season as they continue to challenge for promotion. The Whites have placed a £30million price tag on the Dutchman to deter potential suitors. Summerville has been exceptional for Leeds this season, registering 12 goals and six assists in 23 Championship appearances, keeping them in the playoff picture. Meanwhile, Villa is currently second in the Premier League table, just two points off the top. Unai Emery is looking to add reinforcements to maintain strength in depth for the rest of the season and beyond. The Villa boss is prioritizing a right-back but is also looking at reinforcements on the wing. Summerville would be a great addition to the Villans, and his £30million price tag isn’t prohibitive. However, waiting until summer to make a move brings more risks for Villa, as Summerville’s price tag may rise if Leeds gets promoted.
