Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has acknowledged that Lucas Digne will not be available for their Premier League match against Everton on Sunday. Despite the return of several players to training, including Robin Olsen, Pau Torres, and Youri Tielemans, Emery stated that each player will be individually assessed before the game. Additionally, Bertrand Traore will be unavailable as he is currently with Burkina Faso at the Africa Cup of Nations. Emery confirmed that Digne remains out, and when asked about his return to fitness, he stated that he is unsure of the exact timeline. Although Digne recently shared a picture of himself in training, he will not be fit in time for Sunday’s match. Therefore, Alex Moreno is expected to continue at left-back for Villa. Despite this setback, Villa is currently second in the league table and will look to secure their third consecutive win in all competitions after victories over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup and Burnley in the Premier League.
