The transfer saga of Radu Dragusin had many twists and turns, but ultimately the Romanian made the right decision in the eyes of Tottenham fans. Despite a strong approach from Bayern Munich, Dragusin is now in contention for a spot in the Tottenham XI against Manchester United. The transfer also saw Eric Dier move to Bayern Munich in a mutually beneficial January solution. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Ashley Phillips joined Plymouth Argyle on loan for the remainder of the season and made an impressive full debut in a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town. Phillips was voted the fan’s player of the match for his outstanding display. Tottenham fans will be hoping for more of the same from Phillips, who could have a big future with the club. Manager Postecoglou is known for his expertise in developing young players and will know best when to give Phillips his chance. Despite the return of two defenders to the Tottenham squad for the match against Manchester United, there is a real feel-good factor around the club and no reason to think it will be halted today.
