According to Tuttomercatoweb, it appeared that the Villans had reached an agreement with Hellas Verona for 23-year-old Cyril Ngonge. Villa had reportedly offered €10 million (around £8.7 million) for the Belgian forward, who Verona had signed for free a year ago. However, Tutto Hellas Verona later claimed that Ngonge was not interested in leaving Serie A, and the rumors linking him to Villa died down. Now, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has reported that Ngonge is on the verge of joining Napoli, the reigning champions of Italy. According to Romano, Ngonge has completed his medical with the club and will sign a contract for a fee of €20 million plus add-ons. Aston Villa will need to look elsewhere for reinforcements, but they may keep an eye on Ngonge’s development at Napoli for future consideration.
