The Premier League and European campaigns of Emery’s team have been exceptional this season, leading fans to expect new signings. However, before any new additions arrive, it appears that some players may leave Villa, with Leander Dendoncker, Calum Chambers, Bertrand Traore, and Kortney Hause being the most likely candidates. If these departures occur, Emery may have the opportunity to bring in an experienced striker to support Ollie Watkins. Interestingly, Jaden Philogene, who left Emery’s Villa project last summer, has recently admitted that he didn’t really want to go. Although currently injured, Philogene was a key player for Hull, scoring six goals and registering five assists in 14 games. He revealed that he left because he didn’t think he would get the minutes he needed and spoke to Emery and Monchi, who agreed that it was the best option for him. While his departure now seems sensible, Villa has been linked with a sensational move for a winger this month, but perhaps they should consider bringing back academy graduate Philogene, who could perfectly complement their squad. However, at just 21 years old, he probably wouldn’t have enjoyed another six months on the periphery of things.
