The Ole Miss Rebels had three players chosen in the 2024 NFL Draft and additional players signed as undrafted free agents. Deshawn Gaddie Jr. increased that count by signing with the Carolina Panthers as a UDFA on Monday morning. Gaddie transferred to Ole Miss from North Texas in 2023 and played one season with the Rebels. During his time at Ole Miss, he participated in all 13 games, registering nine tackles and three passes defended in Pete Golding’s defensive lineup. Prior to his stint with Ole Miss, Gaddie had a successful tenure at North Texas, tallying 148 total tackles across four seasons and earning First Team All-CUSA honors in 2022. Gaddie becomes the fifth Rebel to secure a UDFA deal with an NFL team recently, joining DE Isaac Ukwu (Detroit Lions), LB Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste (Los Angeles Chargers), CB Zamari Walton (Los Angeles Chargers), and WR Dayton Wade (Baltimore Ravens). Quarterback Spencer Sanders was also invited to the Kansas City Chiefs’ mini camp.
